Captain Colter Stevens woke up inside the body of another man. He woke in a train that would explode every eight minutes killing him again and again (as well as all the other passengers on the train). He was instructed to find the clues needed about a bombing, that would make the scientist rebooting him into the source code finally allow him to die one last time.
Colter was born in Rhode Island and raised by his stay at home mom and his father, a hard working owner of Colter’s Deli. Steven was always a popular student in school and was always surrounded by friends. He enjoyed riding his bike, and even as little kid he dreamed about flying. As Steven got older he realized his dream of flying by joining the military and becoming an Apache Helicopter pilot against his fathers wishes.
Stevens not only endured boot camp, he excelled at it. From there he quickly earned his rank as Captain Colter Stevens. When the Gulf War broke out, Stevens being the soldier that he is, served his first tour of duty, and then signed up for a second tour overseas. That truly enraged his father, who feared for his son’s safety, but Captain Colter couldn’t stand by during a war as American soldiers were in harms’ way.
During an intense night fight, a platoon of US Marines were slugging it out with the Iraq’s finest soldiers of the Republican Guard. Air cover was called in to support the troops on the ground. Captain Colter Stevens flew his helicopter in, targeting and destroying two Republican Guard Tanks and receiving some damage from small arms fire. He was redirected by an emergency call for a downed troop helicopter with wounded on the ground taking fire.
The soldiers on the ground would later recall that the only reason any of them got out of that helicopter alive was due to the heroic maneuvers of Captain Colters’ helicopter. He made repeated passes over the enemy, drawing fire and eliminating another tank and two troop transports. Unfortunately, a lucky missile strike from a shoulder mounted rocket brought down Colters’ helicopter. The crash threw him from the copter landing on his head.He was rushed by soldiers on the ground to a medevac tent where he was pronounced dead.
What was left of Captain Colter Stevens was rushed to a freezer and shipped back to the United States. An urn with ashes was sent to his father. What really happened to the Captain was far more devious; his mind was hooked into a computer, allowing him to be rebooted into source code of a deceased mind that the military wants to know what they were involved in during the last 8 minutes of their life.
